Bhalinder L. Rikhye


Bhalinder L. Rikhye, Peltz & WalkerBhalinder L. Rikhye is a 1972 graduate of Columbia College and a 1974 graduate of Queens College, University of Cambridge, England, where he received his law degree.  Mr. Rikhye is also a graduate of the Inns of Court School of Law, London, and was admitted as a Barrister-at-Law of the Middle Temple in 1975.  In 1976, Mr. Rikhye was admitted to the Delhi Bar and worked as a litigation associate with the firm of Khaitan & Co., Solicitors and Advocates, New Delhi, from 1976 to 1977.

Mr. Rikhye is appellate counsel at Peltz & Walker, representing hospitals, physicians, and other health care providers in New York State. He writes and argues appeals and motions in the trial and appellate courts of the State of New York, including its highest court, the Court of Appeals, as well as in the United States Court of Appeals for the Second Circuit.

Mr. Rikhye is a member of the American Bar Association’s Section on International Law – India Committee, a past chair of the International Trade Committee of the New York City Bar Association, and a past member of its Committee on Asian Affairs and Council on International Affairs.

He is a founding member of The Asia Society’s Council on US-India Education, and the convener of two symposia at the New York City Bar Association: (1)Doing Business in India and (2)International Trade and the Environment. He served as a judge (Oral Argument) for the ABA Law Student Division’s 2011 National Appellate Advocacy Competition.
