Following law school, Mr. Peltz became associated with Bigham Englar Jones & Houston in New York City where he prosecuted subrogation claims and defended underwriters on liability and other policies, with responsibility for negotiation, trial, appeal or arbitration of those cases. Mr. Peltz has experience in many substantive areas of the law, including products liability, civil rights, employment discrimination, and entertainment law. Specializing in insurance, products liability, transportation, admiralty and commercial law, Mr. Peltz practices primarily in the federal courts.
Mr. Peltz's practice also includes the defense of personal injury claims in state courts. He also assists in medical malpractice cases pending in federal courts. Mr. Peltz has lectured on claim handling and risk management and has participated in structured settlement seminars. Mr. Peltz has also been a panelist for an entertainment law seminar. Mr. Peltz is admitted to practice in New York and before the U.S. District Courts for the Southern, Eastern, Western and Northern Districts of New York as well as before the United States Courts of Appeal for the Second and Fourth Circuits.
He is a member of the New York County Lawyers' Association, an associate member of the Professional Liability Underwriting Society, the American Management Association, and the Association of Transportation Practitioners. He is also a member of the Defense Association of New York, the Maritime Law Association, and the Maritime Association of the Port of New York. He is on the Panel of Arbitrators of the American Arbitration Association and is a Neutral Hearing Officer with Dispute Resolution Inc. Mr. Peltz has also been an Associate Member of the American Institute of Marine Underwriters, and a member of the American Insurance Attorneys, Inc. and the Association of Food Industries
Mr. Peltz has an "AV" rating in Martindale-Hubbell Law Directory and is listed in the Prentice Hall Directory of Litigation Attorneys and Hine's Director of Insurance and Transportation Attorneys .
