The New York State Physician Profile is a website that the Department of Health has on every physician in the state. You have to update it every two years. It lists your education, it lists where you practice, and it also will list settlements in malpractice cases if you have either a very, very serious one or you have numerous ones. Those things can be seen by the general public, so you’d like to keep those sort of things off there.
Also, if you have been disciplined in the past, say a censure and reprimand or a fine for unprofessional conduct, that too will appear on the Physician Profile. Again, that is available to the general public, and something you absolutely do not want to have on your record.
