If you end up in rehabilitation for a drug or alcohol problem, you are going to be affected financially. First of all, you’re probably going to be in rehab for eight to twelve weeks. That means you’re not going to be in your office or at your job earning money. What you will have to do is take a look and see, do you have a disability policy that might be paying you for this time that you’re in rehab? That often happens, but you have to know to look for it.
Also, your time at rehab is going to be very expensive. Take a look at your health insurance program. Do you have coverage for this type of treatment? You may well have it, and that will really save you a great deal of money, if you have it. Of course, it’s best to look at these things before you go into rehab, and make changes in them if you think it’s necessary, in order to protect yourself from the serious financial drain that going into rehab for a month or so will cause on your practice.
